EPCA 2022 and update methacrylates business
Röhm is looking forward to meet its customers and other industry partners at the EPCA 56th Annual Meeting 2022 taking place from October 4-6 in Berlin. The European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) is Europe’s leading business network and knowledge exchange hub for the global petrochemical community.
As a European producer, the Röhm GmbH remains a reliable partner for our customers in the methacrylates monomers market with production at both German sites, Worms and Wesseling. Each plant has a specific focus with regards to products, internal supply and customer structure. They are integrated into Röhm’s Verbund production and represent an essential part of Röhm. Due to soft demand and a strong increase in energy and raw material costs, run rates have been reduced in the past months. Cost increases need to be passed forward proportionally to our customers. In addition, imports from Asia to the European market offering some spot opportunities to our customers. However, Röhm takes its responsibility in the European value chain serious and protects domestic production as part of the European Chemical Industry.
As Röhm, we plan with elevated natural gas and electric power cost until end of the heating season for the winter 2022/2023 followed by a gradual normalization of the energy market, as predicted by several independent publications. Also, the German government is currently debating the introduction of a natural gas price cap that shall improve the cost position for the German chemical industry, as inquired by the VCI.
Röhm has a clear long-term growth strategy with strong commitment to the European region and will continue to do its utmost to support its loyal customers with the established high service levels and high supply reliability.
